A return to normal for the Southwest Stock Car Association.
Before their points season begins at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway, they’re hosting the Maritime All-Star Sportsman series at the track tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Association Vice-President Kyle Hines says there will be sportsmen, four-cylinder and hot-rod classic racers from across the Maritimes.
“We’ll have qualifying races for all three classes, 75 laps for sportsmen class, 30 laps for the hot-rods and four-cylinder drivers,” says Hines.
Hines says it’s great to be back with no restrictions, as they kept racing through the pandemic but crowds were limited.
“It’s a complete family atmosphere and it’s a great experience. I’ve been racing since 2001, and I see the same faces in the crowd every year. They just love it.”
He says the first feature races of the season take place next Sunday, June 12th starting at 1 p.m.
Listen to the Weekender tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. for more information on the season.
