A psychiatric assessment has been ordered for a Yarmouth man charged with attempted murder.
Nineteen year old William Wolf McChesney was remanded to the East Coast Forensic Hospital after an appearance in Yarmouth Provincial Court yesterday.
The assessment will determine if he’s fit to stand trial, and if he can be held criminally responsible.
McChesney was arrested after a 38 year old Yarmouth woman was stabbed at an apartment on Main Street early Monday.
He is also charged with assault with a weapon and assault by choking.
The accused is due back in court on June 28th for election and plea, and it’s expected the results of the assessment will be revealed.
