A 23 year old man is facing several charges after shots were fired at a home in Digby County on Saturday morning.
Meteghan RCMP say they responded to a complaint of an unknown disturbance at a home on Belle Vue Road in Belliveau’s Cove at around 10:30.
The first officer on scene observed a man exiting the home with a firearm, and heard a shot being fired.
RCMP evacuated nearby homes and secured the area.
Police say several departments responded, including a hostage negotiator.
Dawson Laurie Comeau of Belliveau’s Cove was taken into custody about an hour later.
His charges include careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, reckless discharge, uttering threats, resisting arrest and mischief.
He’s appearing in Digby Provincial Court this morning.
