A forest fire yesterday in Yarmouth County.
It was discovered around noon near a bog just off Argyle Head Road.
The Eel Brook and District Fire Department responded, with mutual-aid from the Quinan and West Pubnico departments, with Lake Vaughan on stand-by.
Chief of the Eel Brook department Jonathan LeBlanc says firefighters went on the attack with water, and had to hike over a kilometre into the woods.
After about seven hours the fire was extinguished, and there were no injuries.
The Department of Natural Resources and the RCMP were also on scene.
DNR says the fire measured 13 hectares in size.
LeBlanc says DNR went back today to check for hot spots.
