A 53 year old man died Thursday in Digby County house fire.
RCMP say he was pronounced dead at the scene on East Old Post Road in Smith’s Cove.
Firefighters from several departments were called to the blaze just before 2:30 p.m., as a residence was engulfed in flames.
A 67 year old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries, and managed to escape the home.
The man was not found until late in the evening because of the unsafe conditions of the building.
RCMP say the cause of the fire is under investigation, and the Red Cross is assisting the woman.
