Negotiations on a new collective agreement at Universite Sainte-Anne are continuing.
Professors and librarians walked off the job and onto the picket line earlier this month after talks broke off.
In a news release, the faculty union says talks resumed just over a week ago, and the two sides have reached an agreement on about half of the issues.
The group says they’re working towards a settlement that will be fair to faculty and good for the university.
They say saving the winter term is important, and they’re concerned about the slow pace of progress, and a perceived ‘lack of urgency’ by university administration.
In a statement to Acadia News, a spokesperson for the administration says talks are ongoing, and they will have no further comment at this stage.
After talks broke off earlier this month, the union talked about achieving a more equitable agreement.
They held demonstrations, including a protest where they banged pots and pans to protest the university’s decision to close the student cafeteria.
