The Yarmouth Mariners now know who their first round playoff opponent is.
The top ranked team in the Eastlink South Division will take on the fourth place Valley Wildcats.
It’s the first time since 2015 the teams will meet in the postseason. Valley won that series in five games.
Yarmouth will host Game 1, with the schedule expected to be released later today.
The Mariners were beaten 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night by the Wildcats in Berwick.
Kurtis Lang, Nolan Cleary and Cole Foston had the goals, and AJ DiChiara made 37 saves in the loss. Sam Gillis had two assists and scored in the shootout.
Yarmouth has two regular season games left, both at home, tonight against Fredericton and tomorrow versus Pictou County.
The postponed games with Frederictom and Pictou from Mar 12th and 13th have been rescheduled to Monday March 21st Vs Fredericton and Tuesday March 22nd Vs Pictou.
