If you’re looking for a job, this could be a great way to stand out.
The Western Regional Enterprise Network is holding a contest, asking would-be employees to submit a video on why businesses in the region should hire them.
The ‘Hire Me Western’ pitch competition is presented by the Connector Program through WREN, which extends from Digby around to Barrington.
Program Manager Miranda MacLean says the pitch should be between 30-60 seconds.
“It kind of puts a name in front of a resume. You can give information about yourself, your background and why you want to work for the organization,” says MacLean.
She says this gives employers a chance to make a hire in an unconventional way.
“A lot of places hire for fit, and will train. This will give employers a chance to see the person behind the resume and behind the words.”
The deadline for submissions is Friday.
There are tech prizes to be won.
