Two Yarmouth men were arrested last week on Havelock Drive.
58 year old Patrick Wade Walsh and 62 year old Arnold Norman Cottreau are facing charges related to the sale and possession of illegal tobacco.
A search warrant was issued last Thursday, where RCMP seized unstamped cigarettes, a chemical irritant, cash, a digital scale and cell phones.
The charges are as follows:
- Selling of Tobacco Products and Raw Leaf Tobacco – Section 121.1(1) Criminal Code (CC);
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Section 88(2) Criminal Code (CC);
- Possession of a Tobacco Product Not Stamped – Section 216(1) Excise Act (EA);
- Possession of Tobacco on which Tax Has Not Been Paid – Section 39(1)(a) Revenue Act (RA);
- Possession of Tobacco Not Bearing a Prescribed Mark – Section 39(1)(b) Revenue Act (RA).
The men were released and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on March 1st.
