A blast of rain, freezing rain and snow, along with strong winds are expected today into tomorrow.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Tri-Counties, and most of the province.
Meteorologist Ian Hubbard says western Nova Scotia could see freezing precipitation as early as this afternoon.
“And maybe even some snow, depending on how far west they are. The worst conditions will be later on in the day Friday, while the early part of the day we’ll see rain and warmer temperatures across the province,” says Hubbard.
He says the highest snowfall totals are expected to exceed 30 centimetres over western and northern parts of the province.
In our area, the forecast is calling for 20-30 centimetres overnight tonight with winds gusting to 100 kilometres an hour.
The wind chill will also be a factor, it could feel like minus 24 overnight and tomorrow.
