It’s a gift that keeps on giving.
Thanks to last year’s anonymous $22 million donation to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation, 11 organizations just received grants to promote healthcare in the Tri-Counties.
The funds totaled $150,000, and were generated through resources from the the major donation.
Chair of the foundation Neil LeBlanc says it’s a chance to extend help beyond the hospital.
“And to help organizations promote wellness and healthcare across the Tri-Counties. Some of the grants are start-ups, some will be used for equipment. The main goal is to improve the lives of people in our area,” says LeBlanc.
The grants were the first to be awarded by the Healthcare Enhancement Endowment Committee, which was created to oversee the funds.
