Without a doubt, 2021 will be remembered as the year Argyle got its new administration building.
Opening over the summer in Tusket, it’s the only net-zero energy administration building in Canada.
Warden Danny Muise says it was a project that was long overdue.
“Our location wasn’t suitable anymore. It wasn’t meeting the needs of staff, or the residents. It wasn’t wheelchair accessible either. It was a great project to get completed,” says Muise.
Muise says many people have expressed how pleased they are with the new building, and it will serve the municipality for years to come.
He says another long-standing priority, high-speed internet upgrades, are due to be finished throughout Argyle in 2022.
Muise says most residents should have access to high-speed internet sometime in the new year.
“This is a very important essential service. Internet is something that we’ve been working on for a long time. It’s been on our priority list for years.”
The project for Argyle, Lower Argyle, Central Argyle, Argyle Head, Glenwood and Roberts Island should be finished by April.
Muise wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
