The Mayor of Yarmouth says 2021 brought a lot of important projects to the spotlight.
Pam Mood says the sewer separation of Parade Street, completion of Main Street with the lobster car structures, and connecting active transportation trails are just a few highlights of a busy year.
“They cost money, but they’re big things and mean a lot to the citizens of Yarmouth. It makes it a better place to be for folks visiting the town,” says Mood.
Mood says continued work on renovations to the Yarmouth International Ferry Terminal was also a major project, as they get ready to welcome ‘the CAT’ ferry back to port this Spring.
Getting Mariners on Main open at the former YMCA building was also a big priority, and Mood says expansion of the Mariners Centre is top of mind, which includes pushing for funding in 2022.
Mood thanks citizens and businesses for their patience as they’ve completed these projects.
She says the town has changed a lot over the last decade.
“We’ve come a long way. That’s due to the residents of the town, and the businesses getting on board with what we’re doing.”
She thanks residents for staying strong during another year in a pandemic.
