UPDATE: The Carleton Christmas Parade has been cancelled.
A tradition in a small Yarmouth County community continues tomorrow.
The Carleton Christmas parade begins at 2:30 p.m near the Sleepy Paws Inn.
Josh Cottreau and Michael Duckworth are organizing the event this year.
Duckworth says it’s great to see the community come together.
“It’s a big thing for the kids in the community, and it’s great to have a small community like Carleton come together with local businesses to help make this happen,” says Duckworth.
Fire departments from Carleton, Kemptville and Pleasant Valley are taking part.
The parade will end at the Carleton Fire Hall, there will be no indoor activities.
“We aren’t allowed to have indoor events with hot chocolate or things like they’ve had in the past, but in keeping with tradition, Santa will be in the parade on a firetruck.”
Santa will hand out treat bags to children at the end of the parade.
The organizers ask those along the parade route to stay physically distanced.
