It’s become a destination for families this holiday season.
A 26 foot tall buoy tree on Dennis Point Wharf in West Pubnico has drawn many people to the area for photographs.
It’s the second year for the tree, and it was made possible by the West Side Improvement Society and many volunteers in the community.
Treasurer of the society Yvette d’Entremont says it’s drawing people from all over.
“The first night it was lit this year, there was a couple that drove that night from Aylesford to see it. We’ve had many families come to see it, it’s been fantastic,” says d’Entremont.
She says it has new lights this year.
“Last year we had a bit of an issue with our lights, being the first year. We had to invest to get something a little tougher to endure the salt water and the wind.”
Society members donate $150 twice a year for projects like this in the community.
The society has also helped with a flagpole tree and a gingerbread house at St. Peter’s Church.
A project to place banners around the community is also ongoing.
