The Town of Yarmouth hosted their annual tree lighting on Friday night.
A large crowd gathered in front of town hall to watch the tree and Frost Park be lit up for the holiday season.
Mayor Pam Mood reminded those in attendance to help those in need.
“It’s important that we reach out and help someone in need. Whether it’s a coat, a warm meal, a hug or just a friendly visit. Let’s make this the best season ever.” Mood told the crowd.
Yarmouth MLA Zach Churchill also addressed the audience.
“It’s been a tough year and a bit for everybody, and I’m so happy to see so many down here. On behalf of the province, it’s my great honour to wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.”
Meanwhile in Barrington, a virtual lighting of the lobster trap tree took place on Friday evening.
Argyle lit their tree last night at the Tusket courthouse.
