Yesterday, port reps decided to hold off on beginning the commercial lobster fishery due to high winds in the marine weather forecast, delaying it through today and tomorrow.
More calls are being held this afternoon for LFA 33 and 34 about a possible Wednesday opening.
The Coldwater Lobster Association says DFO’s safety protocol kicked in for today, triggering an automatic delay.
Today was the scheduled start of the season.
