There were power outages throughout Central Nova Scotia toward Cape Breton Tuesday morning.
Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers woke up with no electricity as a fall storm continues to sweep through the region.
NSP Storm Lead Sean Borden says their response is going as planned with multiple crews and contractors responding.
“We’ve had about 30,000 customers impacted by this storm, of which, 20,000 were restored by our crews that were out working all night,” says Borden.
Some outages may not be restored until this afternoon, and Borden says their online outage map will continue to be updated.
“So far, the wind forecasts have been very accurate from meteorologists, as far as wind speed. We’ve been able to respond effectively.”
He says significant winds are forecast in Cape Breton, and outages will continue to appear throughout the day.
