A big response from the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners Saturday night.
After losing 7-4 in Truro Friday, the Mariners rebounded with a 5-0 win Saturday at Mariners Centre.
Kaleb Boudreau, Sam Gillis, Andrew Stuckless, Logan Danis and Ben Charles all had goals, AJ DiChiara made 22 saves for the shutout.
Yarmouth Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says it was a great pushback.
“The guys took it upon themselves to be better, and they did a good job. I thought we played a full 60 minutes. We let one get away from us in Truro, but overall tonight and the game in Amherst on Thursday, I thought we were very good,” says Barron.
It was also the first ‘Pink in the Rink’ of the season, as the Mariners wore pink jerseys to support breast cancer research.
Barron says the team really looks forward to it.
“Everyone knows someone who has fought, or unfortunately lost the battle. Anything we can do for the community, and for anyone fighting that battle now, it’s a great cause.”
The jerseys will be auctioned off online.
Yarmouth plays twice at home this coming weekend, against the Crushers Saturday and the Ramblers on Sunday.
