A drug trafficking investigation in Yarmouth has led to five arrests.
The RCMP have announced the Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit made the arrests this morning.
Around 4:30 a.m., the Yarmouth/Clare SCEU, with help rom the “H” Division RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Parade St.
Four people were arrested, a search of the home found a loaded firearm, ammunition, crack cocaine, cannabis, hash, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
The fifth person was previously arrested and charged on October 26th.
The RCMP say the following people have been charged:
- Frederick Henry Comeau, 57, of South Ohio
- Gordon Thomas Comeau, 43, of Gardner’s Mill
- John Marshall Hatfield, 60, of Yarmouth
- Corinne Marie Hatfield, 57, of Yarmouth
- Joshua Mark Smith, 27, of Meteghan
They have all been charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution
- Possession of Illicit Cannabis
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Psilocybin
- Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm when Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
Gordon Thomas Comeau has also been charged with Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order and Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order.
All five accused were released on conditions and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on December sixth.
The RCMP say the investigation was assisted by the Yarmouth Rural RCMP, Yarmouth Town RCMP and the Meteghan RCMP.
