Aidaen’s Place provides wellness peer support for youth ages 11-17. They also offer peer support to their parents and guardians.
Under their roof you will find life skills programs, creativity workshops and much more. They are active!
They are open Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 3-8, Fridays 3-9, Saturdays 12-4, Wednesdays by appointment, closed Sundays and holidays.
I spoke with founder Kelly Mitchell about what they are up to lately:
There’s a lot happening at Aidaen’s Place this Fall:
David Durkee from The Music Room is providing in-house music instruction
They are hoping to have Jennifer Holleman in for a reality check on the sex trade and how it’s setting foot in our community.
They offer free tutoring, help with homework, free clothing and meals for home and They are introducing 2 very special projects:
1. Parents support groups
2. Youth GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) labelled as the Purple Hedgehogs
Both are held on Wednesdays 6-8pm rotating one week to the next.
Other upgraded programming includes outdoor movies with s’mores by the fire, Aidaen’s Angels Community Outreach on Saturdays where youth have cooking lessons with Mim and provide meals to those in need, art and gaming nights and more.
Towards the end of the month they will have a haunted walk exploring some of Yarmouth’s presumed haunted properties hosted by Justin and Kait.
And the yearly Halloween Party
October 30th 4-9pm.
