For the first time in six years, a Junior C hockey game will be played in Barrington this weekend.
An exhibition game between the newly formed Southwest Storm and the Chester Castaways will take place at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena tomorrow (Saturday) night at 6 p.m.
Fans are welcome to attend, COVID rules, masks and social distancing will be in place.
The team, made up of players from the Tri-Counties, will play most of their home games in Barrington, with a few scheduled in Clare.
There hasn’t been Junior C in our region since 2015, when both the Barrington Ice Dogs and Clare Lions decided to take a leave of absence.
The Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League regular season begins next weekend.
