This has more to do with the sugar in cereal than the nutrition in the pizza…..and this is coming from a guy who ate 2 peanut butter cookies for breakfast this morning…..
I love breakfast, but early in the morning heading for work it needs to be a pretty small one, and I admit my go to is Captain Crunch. Sugary I know.
I was reading an article a few days back, here’s a link to it, saying that the sugar in breakfasts like the one I usually eat causes a “sugar crash” before lunchtime.
What is being said, according to this nutritionist, is that a slice of pizza and an average bowl of cereal with whole milk is roughly the same amount of calories. The difference is the protein punch in the pizza. Not just protein, but the carbs and (sometimes) vegetables on a slice will take you farther than the bowl of cereal would.
So the point is that although the slice of pizza may not be optimal either, it is at least a little more balanced than your basic bowl of Captain Crunch.
Great! Now do peanut butter cookies.
What did you have for breakfast today?
