The Liberal candidate for MP in West Nova is Alxys Chamberlain.
The native of Kingston in the Valley is campaigning in the Yarmouth area today.
Chamberlain was a social worker, and worked with former Liberal MLA Leo Glavine in Communities, Culture and Heritage.
She says West Nova is a large riding, so the issues on doorsteps are different, depending on where you go.
“Healthcare seems to be the main talking point at doors. Climate change is another one, the fishing dispute in St. Mary’s Bay, agriculture as well. I’m only one voice in West Nova, and it’s really important that I hear from everyone, and what they’re looking for in a representative,” says Chamberlain.
Chamberlain says she will fight for constituents if elected, and she will take action in many areas that need it.
She’s running politically for the first time. So far, she’s up against Conservative Party of Canada incumbent MP Chris d’Entremont, Scott Spidle for the Peoples Party of Canada and Pat Robar for the Veterans Coalition Party of Canada.
Election day is September 20th.
