A popular swimming spot in Yarmouth County was closed suddenly yesterday.
Ellenwood Lake Beach will be shut down until further notice.
Nova Scotia Provincial Parks shared the update, saying the area is closed because of ‘high bacteria levels in the water after testing.’
They say updates will be shared once new water quality tests are received.
The rest of Ellenwood Park remains open.
According to the province, there’s a chance you may become ill after swimming in bacterial infected water.
Common symptoms to watch out for include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, abdominal cramps or other symptoms such as ear, eye or skin irritation.
