Saint Francis Xavier University will host the first-ever conference on economic growth in Atlantic Canada.
The inaugural Atlantic Economic Forum will be held in the Spring of 2022 at St. FX’s Brian Mulroney Institute of Government
The forum will bring industry heads, policymakers, academics and students together to talk about challenges facing the Atlantic Provinces and provide recommendations on how to address those issues.
“The Atlantic provinces are facing a generational opportunity for economic growth as we emerge from COVID-19, and the Forum provides an important new vehicle to develop innovative solutions that will help build a stronger and more resilient future for our region,” said Sean Fraser, Member of Parliament for Central Nova, in a media release.
The Forum will feature keynote speakers, expert panel discussions, roundtables and public debates. It will also act as a platform for investment and project proposal announcements.
The government of Canada has pledged $200,000 to the university for the planning and hosting of the forum. The contribution is being provided through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)’s Innovative Communities Fund.
