The provincial Liberals have named their candidate for the re-established riding of Argyle.
19 year old Nick d’Entremont of Lower West Pubnico was acclaimed after a virtual nomination meeting.
The former Student Council president at Ecole Secondaire de Par-en-Bas just completed his first year at Dalhousie, studying Political Science.
d’Entremont talks about the issues important to him.
“The tourism sector in our area has taken a big hit, seniors and healthcare are also areas I’d like to focus on, especially with the ambulance situation in Pubnico,” said d’Entremont.
d’Entremont says working at Dennis Point Cafe and the Acadian Museum helped shape his political interest.
“That’s where I got my first look at the tourism and fisheries sectors, and grew appreciation for that. Working at the museum I got to help with Acadian genealogy.”
In a statement, Premier Iain Rankin says it’s inspiring to have a young person such as d’Entremont run for the Liberals, adding that he will be a role model for his peers and continue to engage young people in their political process.
d’Entremont says he’s excited to join Team Rankin.
Colton LeBlanc will be the Progressive Conservative Candidate for Argyle, he was elected to represent Argyle-Barrington in a 2019 by-election.
