A 40 year old Yarmouth County man was arrested and charged last Friday after a firearms investigation.
The Yarmouth RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit charged James Burton Forbes of Arcadia after a search of a residence in Arcadia.
Police say around 5 a.m, they executed a search warrant in relation to a firearms investigation, and three people were arrested.
They say ammunition, a loaded magazine, firearm parts including a rifle stock and scope, gas masks, a helmet with metal face protection welded to it, a modified knife with hand protection welded on and soft-body armour were all seized.
Forbes was charged with three counts contrary to a prohibition order and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was also fined nearly $1,500 for possessing body armour without authorization.
Forbes was released on conditions and will appear in court August 30th in Yarmouth.
The other two who were arrested were released without charges.
RCMP confirmed to Y95 News on June 18th that there was an incident, but provided few details at that time.
