Early risers may get a spectacular view tomorrow morning.
A solar eclipse will take place at sunrise, and it may look like a ring of fire.
Here in Yarmouth, the prime viewing time will be from 5:30 until just after 6:30 a.m.
Tim Doucette with the Deep Sky Eye Observatory in Quinan says it’s an annular eclipse.
“What you’ll notice is, on the horizon when the sun comes up, the moon is passing between the Earth and the sun. The sun will be partially blocked by the moon for about two hours.”
Doucette says looking directly at the eclipse could damage your eyes.
“It’s important to be safe, and use something like a projection box which can be made very simply, or use solar eclipse glasses.”
At its peak, the moon is expected to cover 75 per cent of the sun.
