Students returned to school today in our region.
Dr. Chris Boulter, the Regional Executive Director of Education for the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education is encouraged that the lockdown was successful, and thanks teachers, students and parents for their cooperation with online learning.
Dr. Boulter says heading back to in-person learning is a welcome sight.
“Experts agree, and I certainly feel, that the best place for students is the classroom. The in-school experience is vital to a person’s development and well-being.”
He says students can be in their classrooms with their peers..
Schools will continue to follow all public health measures, and Dr. Boulter says teachers have been working hard to resume in-person learning.
The last day regular for high school students will be June 11th, the final day for all other grades will be June 28th.
