Plans to re-open the former YCMA building in Yarmouth continue to move forward.
All three municipal units held council meetings yesterday, and passed the business plan for the building on Main Street, now known as ‘Mariners on Main.’
Each municipality will transfer $75,000 to the Mariners Centre, who are overseeing the project.
Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood says her council will meet with the Municipalities of Yarmouth and Argyle next week.
“There are a number of steps that we have to take. We have to sit down with the other councils and figure out who is paying what, and what the shares are. We are up to the task, and excited to do this for our public.”
It’s hoped the facility will open on September 13th, to have a fall term of swimming lessons.
