A big donation went to Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue last night.
It was made by the 100 Guys Who Share, Yarmouth County at their latest meeting.
The organization will receive over $13,000.
100 Guys Executive Committee member Gil Dares says GSR is an essential service, and they are all volunteers.
“Ground Search and Rescue volunteer their time to raise funds, purchase items for the hall, train and go on searches. They’re a great organization.”
He says they’re planning to use the money to help renovate their hall.
Since 2016, the 100 Guys Who Share, Yarmouth County have met four times a year, and each member donates $100 to a selected charity.
Nominations come from within the group, which right now has 135 members.
“It’s not hard to find a charity that’s near and dear to our hearts,” says Dares.
