The Municipality of Argyle is warning citizens of a phone scam.
Over the weekend, some residents say they received calls from someone claiming to be from the municipality regarding their property taxes.
The caller looks for residents to answer a survey about their property taxes, and an option to pay their taxes online.
CAO Alain Muise says the municipality would not make those calls.
“We wanted to make sure residents understand, that if they were receiving calls regarding property tax invoices or taxes owing, that did not come from us at all.”
Muise says if you receive any phone calls that seem suspicious, hang up immediately and contact the municipality directly.
He says they will be working with RCMP to determine the origin of the calls.
