A councillor in the Municipality of Argyle is disgusted by ongoing littering in her district.
Kathy Bourque, who represents the area of Pubnico Head and East Pubnico recently posted a picture to social media of garbage build-up on Oak Park Road.
It’s believed the garbage was dumped by one individual.
Bourque says it’s frustrating.
“We have two big garbage pickups every year. We have a facility open where you can bring your garbage. We have regular curbside pickup. There’s no reason why people have to dump their garbage illegally.”
She says she brought it up at last night’s Argyle council meeting, and she’s talked to the other councillors about the issue.
Bourque says everyone in their district has at least one road with illegal dumping issues.
She says a community litter pickup is happening this year, and council approved $18,000 for the project.
