Communities in Digby Neck will rally to support four children this weekend.
Their mother, 32 year old Sammy Jo Difford passed away after a car accident last month in Roxville.
A fundraiser is being held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Freeport on Saturday at 4pm.
Organizer Caitlin Gregory of Tiverton says she knew Difford well, and has collaborated with her family on this.
“I work with kids. It’s heartbreaking when a tragedy like this happens. Kids are kind of my thing, so I wanted to try and help.”
Gregory says there will be a variety show and silent auction, and all COVID-19 safety practices will be in place.
She says money raised will go into a trust fund for the children, who range in age from seven to 14.
“The family are very happy that someone wanted to take on doing something for the kids and their future.”
Gregory says a private Facebook page will be made, and for a donation, a live stream of the event can be viewed.
