Yarmouth town council approved the capital budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
At Thursday’s meeting, council passed a motion to accept the budget at just over $3.17 million.
Mayor Pam Mood says the biggest project council will focus on this year will be stone sewer separation on Parade Street, at a cost of $2.17 million.
“We have stone sewers, so we have to rip that up and do it over. We also added street paving in there at $200,000. We have funding for aquatics, the Bridge facility and Mariners Centre expansion. These are important projects that need to be done.”
Other projects include $60,000 for the Lake Milo boathouse renovations, a new roof for the EMO building and a new sidewalk on Haley Road from Parade Street to Starrs Road.
The operating budget is expected to be completed over the next week.
