An intersection in the Town of Yarmouth will be turned into a four-way stop.
Town council will pass a recommendation from the traffic authority for the Parade Street/Haley Road intersection.
A crosswalk will also be put in across Parade Street to align with the new multi-purpose trail.
Mayor Pam Mood says it’s important to get this done.
“We’ve already done a great deal of work with the active transportation trail. To put in a four-way stop and add a crosswalk, we’re ahead of the game. So great work being done there.”
Staff had been monitoring traffic flow in the area for several weeks and made the recommendation.
Data showed that at peak times, an average of 661 vehicles per day pass through the area.
The crosswalk will include painted street markings and ground mounted signs.
