I am a big history fan. It was probably the subject I did best in while in high school. I especially love looking at old photos from years gone by. I’m a apart of many different history groups on Facebook and love to see the archives people keep and the pictures they share! It is one of the few things I like about social media and the internet as a whole. We are all able to access as much historical information and pictures as we want and people can share theirs as well, which is pretty cool! I thought it would be interesting to see what old pictures you have and what ones were your favorites! Let’s start off with a few of mine!
The first one is a picture of water Street in my home town of Shelburne. This was taken sometime in the 60s or early 70s. I love this picture because on one hand you can clearly see many differences and on the other you can see so many similarities to how Shelburne looks today!

This next one is not so much a picture but a scan of an article. It’s a write up about my Great Grandfather’s fishing boat that sunk. This would have been back in the 50s. I was able to meet him before he passed away and when this was posted online I was very happy to read more about his life.

This one is really cool too. This is my Grandparents dressed as Loyalists for the Founder’s Days Celebrations in the early 80s! It’s increasable to see them when they were in their 30s! (Don’t tell them that though

Do you have any favorite old photos? Share them with me. You can email them to me (holmes.ben@radioabl.ca) or you can message them to me on Facebook! make sure to tell me the story and history behind the picture! I’m excited to see your photos! Remember you can always call in too! 1800-496-2557!
