It’s the end of an era for a world-reknowned Nova Scotia business.
NovaScotian Crystal announced on Thursday that they will be closing up for good at the end of February.
The company – which creates Canada’s only mouth blown, hand cut crystal – says while online sales were bolstered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the losses in the brick-and-mortar store were too great.
They point to a lack of access to the Halifax waterfront, no tourists, cruise ship visitors, and restrictions that cut capacity.
The company says it will be business as usual the end of February.
37 people will be out of work following the closure.
