RCMP say still no trace of debris or any of the five missing fishermen following search efforts on Sunday.
RCMP Air Services did an aerial search of the coastline between Digby Gut and Harbourville via helicopter for any trace of the capsized Chief Williams Saulis scallop dragger.
The vessel went down off the coast of Delaps Cove early last Tuesday morning.
One body has been recovered.
Police say Saturday’s efforts encompassed the coastline between Digby Gut and Morden.
The ground search was suspended indefinitely late last week.
Meantime, the “Chief William Saulis Benevolent Fund” is now live and accepting donations at local Credit Unions.
A release from the Full Bay Scallop Association notes that they have been greatly moved by the response to the tragedy.
The community lost Captain Charles “Hot Dog” Roberts, Leonard “Layback Lenny” Gabriel, Aaron Cogswell, Eugene “Geno” Francis, Dan Forbes, and Mike Drake while the men were returning to port aboard the Chief William Saulis last week.
The Association says they’ve set up the account in partnership with Yarmouth Sea Products, and the funds raised will be managed by a recognized charitable organization.
Additionally, people can donate online via a gofundme campaign.
