RCMP confirm that a property in South Ohio that burned to the ground early Thursday morning was of interest in a recent homicide.
Yarmouth Fire Department Acting Chief Mike Deveau says crews were called to the scene of a fire at an unoccupied family dwelling on Highway 340.
The call came in around 4:30.
RCMP confirm members of the Rural Yarmouth detachment also responded to the call around 4:30.
There were no injuries reported and the fire has been deemed suspicious.
A section of Highway 340 was closed until 9:00 Thursday morning, but was re-opened by noon.
The property, near Bishara’s Garage at Hardscratch Road and Highway 340, was the scene of significant police presence following the Colton Cook homicide.
