There will be a special showing of art by the late Pierre Ferron this Friday (August 28) at the West Pubnico Museum.
The long time member of the CJLS family, where he was a sales agent, was also a highly respected painter and jeweller.
Museum Co-ordinator Bernice d’Entremont says they wanted to have an outdoor show and decided to do it in his memory.
“We knew that Judy had all of Pierre Ferron’s paintings, so, then it could be outside and people could come and see, I mean, it’s been a few years now, people enjoyed his art, and then it would remind them of of Pierre.”
She says many people have fond memories of him.
“Most of what we remember would be when he moved to Nova Scotia, he was from Quebec and he moved to Nova Scotia in ’75. So, at that time, the pictures were of land and seascapes and he was very generous with his time.”
The show starts at 11:00 Friday morning and there will be a biography and some poetry read by his widow, Judy, at 2pm
