Today is a day of remembrance of victims of last weekend’s tragedy that included an RCMP officer who was killed in action. Tonight at 7pm Y95 will be airing a vigil for those we lost. I also thought that it would be a good idea to look back on the times when RCMP helped you or someone you know out. This could be as simple as helping you change a tire.
I have quite a few positive RCMP stories. The first was a couple of summers ago, I have that hands free calling in my car and the microphone is up on the roof, I was parked in a parking lot and a RCMP officer came up and asked me if I was OK he had thought I might have been sleeping, I explained it to him and said thank you for checking up on me. Another time my family also was pulled over for going down a one way street when we were lost in a different town. The officers helped us out by drawing a map and getting us back on track. Those are just two of the many great things that the RCMP do to help all of us and keep us safe.
I think we forget sometimes that they are people too that have families and friends waiting for them at home just like all of us. Do you have a positive RCMP story that you want to share? Let me know on our Y95 Facebook Page. Again tune in tonight for the Nova Scotia Remembers Vigil at 7pm.
