Alright quick story. We lost our dog Cooper this Fall! He usually wonders around in the woods near my house but one day he never came back! Fearing the worst the whole family searched the entire area but could not find him anywhere! I even used a dog whistle which he sometimes comes to but no luck!
Finally after about 3 or so days we thought that he must have gone off somewhere and died (He is an old dog). It was quite sad but then a few days later he came back out of nowhere very weak but after a short recovery he is back to himself!
It is a pretty scary experience losing a pet and it can also be very frustrating because you truly think that you have looked everywhere and done everything you could! I have heard of those pet GPS trackers you can get. That might be a good idea especially if you live in a remote area.
