RCMP are investigating a shooting that left a 17 year old girl with serious but non-life-threatening injuries last night.
Police say they responded to a call at 10:10 about a possible gunshot victim.
The girl was inside a taxi on Main St. when the driver flagged down police out of concern for their passenger.
Police saw that she was injured, and she was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say the preliminary investigation shows that the victim had been socializing with several people at a home on Cliff St. where she was shot.
It is believed that the victim and the suspect are known to each other.
No suspect has been named, and the investigation is ongoing.
Officers from the Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit, as well as Police Dog Services assisted with the investigation.
