Firefighters responded to a report of fire on Argyle St. in Yarmouth early tonight.
The fire was on the top floor of an empty house next to the old Temple Baptist Church.
Yarmouth Delta Platoon Chief Hank Nickerson says crews were having time getting around.
“It’s a vacant building, it’s under renovations; at this point, we haven’t really got into the cause, yet…we’re still trying to fight this fire; this house is all cut up and it’s hard get at.”
He says they space was making it tough on the crews.
“The guys’re coming out and taking a break and we’re sending them right back in, another crew, just to trying to find this fire and it’s hard work and we’re spelling them off as much as we can.”
The departments from Lake Vaughan and Port Maitland assisted Yarmouth on the job.
