Mariners Announce Trade
There’s a new Jr. A Mariner in town…but he’s a familiar name.
Yarmouth has picked up centre Carson Lanceleve from Truro in return for the rights to Jacob Christie and a 1st round pick in the 2021 draft.
Head Coach Laurie Barron says the 5’9″, 140 lb. left shot is a great addition to the team.
“He’s a veteran of the league, he’s a very good offensive player, he’s solid defensively. It’s not a ‘one-and-done’, you know it’s not like any other 20-year-old, he’s got this year and another year left. He’s got a real high ‘hockey IQ’ and he’s a solid kid.”
He says Lanceleve will fill several roles with the team.
“He’s a bit of a “Swiss Army Knife” in the fact that he can play centre, he can play the wing, he can penalty-kill, he’s a powerplay guy…he ticks off a lot of boxes, so we were real happy to get him.”
The Mariners are in New Glasgow Friday and host league-leading Summerside on Saturday.
