People may or may not notice two new RCMP vehicles on Nova Scotia roads.
That’s because these vehicles have a different design and serve the RCMP’s purpose to help make roadways safer.
Sgt. Andrew Clarke says the subdued decal vehicles can be effective day or night.
“We still have the reflective component for officer safety at night when we’re conducting check stops and motor vehicle enforcement and during the day time it looks similar to an unmarked vehicle and it will allow us a measure of subtlety on the road so we can detect other violators.”
Clarke says one vehicle services Northern Nova Scotia and another is in the southern part of the province.
The RCMP Traffic Service focuses on enforcement against impaired and distracted driving, aggressive drivers and ensuring people are wearing seat-belts.
