The 17th Yarmouth Karate Challenge (The Yarmouth Cup) was held this weekend at the Mariners Centre. The host club, Mukashi School of Karate entered 12 competitors (out of a total of 130 from around the province). And they came in 3rd overall in total points!
The follow is a list of medals earned by the members of the Mukashi School of Karate:
*Rayce Chetwynd: (10-11 Male Intermediate) Silver in kumite, Silver in Team kata, Bronze in Individual kata.
*Journee Chetwynd: (8-9 Female Intermediate): Silver in kumite, Silver in Individual kata, Bronze in team kata.
*Makenzie Whittaker: (8-9 Female Intermediate) Gold in kumite, Gold in Indivdual kata, Bronze in Team kata. Winner of the Best Female Junior Trophy.
*Maddie Whittaker: (5-7 Female) Bronze in Ninja turtles.
*Tea Germain: (8-9 Female Novice) Silver in Individual Kumite
*Keyon Crowell: (8-9 Male Novice): Gold in Individual Kumite, Bronze in Individual Kata, Silver in Team Kata.
*Sierra Seabrooke: (10-11 Female Intermediate) Gold in Kumite, Silver in Individual Kata, Bronze in Team kata.
*Dugan MacDonald: (8-9 Male Novice) Silver in Team kata
*Chloe Germain: (5-7 Female Novice) and Jacob Frotten (5-7 Novice) competed for their first time and represented the Mukashi Karate Club well.
**In the Adult divisions Joe Symonds won Gold in the Male Black Belt division and Dave Baldwin won Bronze in the Kyu belt division.
