Southwest Fusion team Kristine/Tessa are 2019 U16 tier 2 Volleyball Gold Medal Champions.
They competed in the 16 team provincial tournament this past weekend in Halifax and came in 1st in their pool defeating Halifax’s Scotia Jr’s, Cape Breton Invasion and Kennetcook Heat.
They faced the Dartmouth Volleyball Club team White in the quarterfinals and topped Dartmouth’s Volleyball Club team Gold in the semis earning them a spot in the finals where they again faced Kennetcook Heat.
They defeated them in 2 sets 25-19, 25-18 to earn the gold medals.
The team was undefeated during the tournament. They are coached by Kristine Babin and Tessa D’Entremont.
Tournament Allstars are Rowan LeBlanc and Brooke Conrad. Monique Muise was named the tournaments Most Valuable Player.
